Turkiye Increases the Import Tax on Wheat, Barley, and Corn to 130%

The import tax for wheat, barley, and corn will be raised from 0 to 130% in Turkiye starting from May 1st 2023. As a result, common wheat prices in the domestic market rose by 3.61% WoW from USD 360/MT to USD 373/MT in W16. The import tax was lowered to 0% in 2022 to enable the imports of these products through the tenders of the Turkish Grain Board.
