Turkey is a net importer of soybeans to support animal feed industry

Turkey is a net importer of soybeans with a 95% import percentage.
In 2019, the country has imported over 2,63 million tons of soybeans worth $988 million. In the same period, Turkey has imported over 729 KMT of soybean meal worth $270,6 million.
On the other hand, during the first seven months of the current year, the country has imported almost 2 million tons of soybean worth $738 million.
The soybean is mainly imported from the US and it's widely used as raw materials in animal feed production.
