Turkey has exported 129 million USD worth of walnuts in 2019. This import volume is quite high despite Turkey being ranked 4th globally in walnut production with an annual production volume of 215 kmt which makes up 5.9% of the world's walnut production.

70% of Turkey's in-shell walnut imports are bought from Chile, Ukraine, and the United States whereas 75% of the unshelled walnut imports are coming from India and Ukraine.
