About 90% of European greenhouses are heated with natural gas, which has affected the production prices this season due to the increasing energy costs. Many greenhouses in the Netherlands, Germany, and Spain decided not to produce due to the rising costs, reducing supply. European traders have already started negotiations with Turkish manufacturers to be able to cover the local demand. Turkish tomatoes are in high demand this season, and buyers want to negotiate supply early with prices of USD 1.52-2.24/kg.
