The demand for betel nut from Thailand is unlimited

Phatthalung, one of the provinces in Thailand, is accelerating the promotion of betel nut plantations after foreign countries flocked to buy unlimited Thai "Mak" fruit. The total export sales reached nearly USD 149,106,845 in 2021. Sales growth was conspicuous, especially in Myanmar, with a 215% growth rate compared to 2020.

China and India also have a very high import demand of betel nuts from Thailand, for young betel nut, ripe betel, mature betel nut, the total amount reaching to more than 1,000 MT per month. In China, nuts are used for chocolate snack produce. In India, ripe betel nuts are processed in sari dyeing machines in various colors and extracted for medical purposes.
