Turkey, which is among the top five in the world in dried tomato exports, increased its dried tomato export from USD 48 million to USD 62 million in the first three quarters of 2021, with an increase of 29% compared to the same period of the previous year. In 2021, Turkey exported USD 11,750K of dried tomatoes to the USA, while having exported USD 6.5 million USD of dried tomatoes in the January-September period of 2020. The USA surpassed Italy and became the country with the highest demand for Turkish dried tomatoes.
In the nine-month period of 2021, dried tomato exports from Turkey to Italy increased 28% from USD 7.5 million to USD 9.6 million, while Germany imported USD 7 million of the products. The export volume to England was USD 5.8 million and to Poland was USD 5.2 million, followed by the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, Greece, and France.
According to Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association, the total dried tomato export value will reach USD 100 million by the end of 2021.
