The Agec law, in effect from 2022, prohibits the retail sales of fresh fruit and vegetables in packaging using plastic to fight against waste. This is aimed to effectively prohibit the affixing of adhesive labels in France, while allowing marketing labeled products outside national borders. Cardboard and corn starch packaging are plastic packaging alternatives. In order to tap the Frech market and Europe, the growers have to keep thinking about an alternative to plastic punnets.
