Vegetable consumption increased by nearly 40% this year

Vegetable consumption in Spain experienced substantial growth compared to the same period last year. From March to June the domestic consumption of vegetables increased by 40%. The products that saw the most growth were tomatoes, onions, peppers, and lettuce. However, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fishing, and Feeding has stated that due to the effects of the pandemic on the hospitality sector, there will be some changes during the following months when data is made available.
