Vegetable price rates plummet due to the higher availability in Brazil

Vegetable prices have decreased in the local Brazilian markets during the last few weeks. The biggest drop was observed in garlic, of which the price ranges from USD 0.22-0.25 cents per kilo. According to the survey data of the National Supply Company conducted in November, the price of garlic decreased by 41% compared to October.

Meanwhile, the farmgate prices for potatoes decreased by 20.6%. Despite the reported declines, the devaluation of potatoes was not reflected in the prices for the supermarket chains in the South region.

On the other hand, the tuber price became a lot more expensive for consumers, increasing by 19.3%. Regarding the ágata variety, the prices from processors and the prices for the wholesale markets range from USD 0.28 to 0.51 cents per kilo.
