According to statistics from Vietnam Customs, in August 2023, Vietnam's coffee export turnover to the Netherlands reached USD 896.74 million, down 10.23% over the same period in 2022, increasing the total turnover. This quota from Jan-23 to Oct-23 reached USD 6.53 billion, a slight decrease of 6.13% compared to the same period in 2022. The reason is that inflation in the Netherlands and the European Union (EU) generally is still high, affecting health. Vietnam's strength is consuming many products, such as seafood, wood and wood products, and electronic components.
Among the products exported to the Netherlands, coffee had outstanding growth in the Dutch market by the end of Aug-23, with a turnover of USD 78.37 million, an increase of 57.58% year-on-year (YoY). Compared to the first eight months of 2022, in Aug-23 alone, turnover grew by three digits (111.23%), corresponding to a turnover of USD 6 million. Fruit and vegetables are items with good turnover in this market, growing by 50.01% YoY, equivalent to USD 104.23 million. Cashew nuts are an agricultural product with positive growth; Vietnam earned USD 227.31 million from this market, an increase of 13.59% over the same period, a good sign for Vietnam when Vietnam's main agricultural products all have growth in turnover in the Netherlands.
