This year, due to bad weather conditions, the sowing of sugar beet in Russia is moving much later than usual. According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the total area under sugar beet this year will increase by 13.6% and will exceed 1 Mha compared to 924 Kha in 2020. Regardless of the bad weather now, it is still expected to harvest at least 40M MT of sugar beet and produce about 6M MT of sugar this season with further favorable weather conditions.
