In W11, the Ecuadorian spot banana market had a decline in farmgate prices from USD 8.5/18.14 kg box to USD 6.5/18.14 kg box. This sudden change is due to the low demand in W10, and heavy rains from the Yaku storm in the South Pacific, causing flooding on the Coast of Ecuador, affecting the inventory in banana plantations, and putting pressure on the prices.
