Agri-feeding Cooperatives of Spain, a Spanish agricultural association, has warned that the beef sector is currently in a vulnerable situation. The association stated that the sector requires government funding to navigate the negative impact that the pandemic has created, and that without funding, it will most likely collapse. The president of the association explained that the sector requires government funding for very specific market issues, such as a promotion for the domestic and international markets, as well as funding for the restructuring of the sector into a sustainable one.

The sector has been underperforming since March this year, and if the situation does not improve there are fears of a generalized collapse with worse consequences for other sectors.
