In Neiva, Colombia, the wholesale price of fresh lemons decreased by 33.71% YoY, reaching USD 0.36/kg in Nov-23 due to a phytosanitary emergency caused by Huanglongbing (HLB), also known as the yellow dragon plague. The largest citrus-producing region, Santander, faces significant challenges as the disease spreads, leading to concerns about tree destruction, and efforts are underway, including a USD 6 billion investment, to address the growing threat to the Colombian citrus industry.
