Georgian Hazelnut Prices Edge Higher as Inventory Dwindles

Georgia's hazelnut kernel prices rose by 8% in February to USD 4.98/kg due to comparatively strong demand. Georgian hazelnuts remain competitive in terms of price, being up to 10% cheaper than in Turkiye. Global demand for hazelnuts remains weak but Georgian hazelnuts offer a good option over its competitors, due to improved post-harvest handling and quality control. Prices are expected to rise further, narrowing the gap with Turkish prices as the Georgian hazelnut inventory rapidly decreases.
