Brazil’s Potato Prices Experienced a 50.4% YoY Drop in Nov-23 Due to Increased Winter Harvest

The wholesale price of fresh common potatoes in Brazil has experienced a 50.4% YoY decrease, dropping from USD 2.20/kg in Nov-22 to USD 1.09/kg in Nov-23. This decline, observed since Feb-23, is linked to the increased winter harvest nationwide. However, there was a marginal 0.1% MoM increase in Nov-23, attributed to a slowdown in the winter harvest and continued heavy rainfall affecting supplying regions in Oct-23.
