Production Drops Cause Sugar Prices To Rise Sharply in Ukraine

The wholesale price of sugar in Ukraine rose 85.13% YoY to 0.89 USD/KG in W4 October 2021. The price increase was due to a decrease in the volume of sugar production in Ukraine, which also caused its exports to fall ten times less than last year to 367 tons. However, imports in January-September 2021 amounted to 163.3 thousand tons which came from Brazil (73.18%), Poland (17.23%), Belgium (2.75%).
