The US expect dates to be more expensive in 2021

The price of imported dates in the US market has soared towards the early 2021. Despite their lower value around April and May, dates are still more expensive than in previous years. The sudden spike occurred in March 2021 where the US received monthly import date of 9,000 thousand pounds. The best time for major exporters to supply dates to the US in a sizeable amount occurred in 2018 with a total value of 90M USD. This was mainly due to the sudden massive supply from Mexico, Tunisia and Algeria. Right in 2020, the value of date exports from Mexico actually rebounded, while Tunisia and Algeria continued to decline from time to time.
