The High Import Market Prices and US Imported Less Hazelnuts

Import prices for US fresh and dried hazelnuts fluctuated and had reached its highest point of 3.50 USD per pound in August 2020. Meanwhile, the total volume of imports showed a lower figure than the previous period. Fluctuations in import volume are correlated with import prices where high import prices are inversely proportional to reduced import volumes. The price decline also occurred in Turkey by -7.01% YoY from 2020. Turkey as the main exporter of hazelnuts to the US decreased in export volume which may occur due to changes in demand from the US for Hazelnut consumption.
