Vannamei Shrimp Prices in Thailand Drop to 24-Week Low in Early April

During the week starting April 3, 2023, vannamei shrimp wholesale prices in Thailand dropped to a fresh 24-week low of THB 133.75/kg. Prices seem to be following their typical seasonal demand trend and are expected to touch a floor soon and start recovering by May. In year-over-year terms, prices are expected to remain depressed as domestic output is expected to increase this 2023, and Thailand's exports continue to face strong competition from India and Ecuador.
