Before he graduated from primary school, Brian began learning about the winemaking process and business while hanging out at his grandparents' vineyard and eventually his father's winery. When Brian's father, Norm, opened a winery in Paso, California, in the early 1990s, he worked weekends and part-time to learn the ins and outs of the industry.
In 1995, when he was thirteen years old, he produced his first wine, a Cabernet Sauvignon. At the age of 19, Brian decided to begin producing wines in 2001. He developed his first commercial vintage, a Cabernet and a Zinfandel, totaling 147 cases.
At the age of 21, Brian released his first vintage in 2003 and began selling his wines at the winery owned by his relatives. As a memorial to his grandfather and friend, he created a design label with two pleading angels. Outgrowing the available production space in 2005, he relocated his business to Denner Vineyards. In 2015, Brian relocated everything to Tin City, a rapidly expanding neighborhood.
