Challenge Food was born in Sambava, in the heart of Madagascar’s legendary SAVA region — the world capital of Bourbon vanilla. What began as a small local initiative grew into a mission-driven company committed to transforming the livelihoods of farming communities while bringing the finest, ethically produced vanilla to the world.

From the beginning, we understood one truth: great vanilla starts with great farmers.

This is why Challenge Food chose to work hand-in-hand with 10 cooperatives of smallholder farmers, all certified Organic (Bio) and Fairtrade. Together, we built a supply chain rooted in transparency, responsibility, and dignity — where every farmer is treated as a partner, not just a supplier.

As our relationships deepened, so did our impact. We introduced sustainable agricultural practices, provided training, and ensured fair compensation that truly reflects the hard work behind each vanilla bean. Our commitment to social and environmental responsibility became not just a value, but the foundation of our identity.

Word of our quality spread beyond Madagascar.

Soon, Challenge Food began exporting premium Bourbon vanilla to China, Italy, and France, earning the trust of long-term clients who appreciated both our exceptional product and our ethical approach. Each shipment carried not only the unmistakable aroma of Madagascar vanilla, but also the story of hundreds of farmers whose lives were uplifted through fair trade.

Today, Challenge Food stands proudly as a bridge between local communities and international markets. We remain deeply rooted in Sambava, close to the land and people who make our mission possible. Yet our vision is global: to become a leading exporter of certified, sustainably sourced vanilla while continuing to protect the environment and empower the families who cultivate it.
