Puerto Pecan orchard is based in Buenos Aires state where the annual rainis around 1700 mm per year. Nevertheless we have irrigation systems in all the Orchard to ensure our almost 12000 trees are getting the right amoung of water at the right time. So quality and quantity of water and nutrients ensure the shell are full filled.
Our harvest starts in May so we have fresh production to be delivered on end of June or July. Main varietes are Pawnee, Desirable, Cape fear, Shoshoni, Mahan, Sumner, Stuar, and some few others, all with US genetic brought by the national institute of Agriculture technology (INTA) to Argentina.
Our production capacity is growing every year, our own production is over 40TN in 2020 and in association with other growers our export capacity is around 200 TN.
Our entire plantation is treated with the least amount of chemicals. We started our Organic certification process in January 2020. We provide Nitrogen nutrients through the natural reincorporation of the soil's own vegetation. Likewise we fight in an early and preventive way before the beginning of flowering fungi and insects, not incorporating mostly any type of products during the gestation of the fruit and until its subsequent harvesting.
The nuts are transported in shell, from the agricultural establishment, at the time it is harvested, nuts are moved directly to the processing plants outside of the orchard.
The nuts arrives bagged by variety, and each bag it is identified with a code that details the date of harvest, the variety, and the weight of the bag, having full traceability from the tree to the dispatch to our final customers.
