Saimaa Brewing Company

A STEP AHEAD - SINCE 1995

Saimaa Brewing Company is one of Finland's oldest microbreweries. Our roots go back to his 1995. A change in the law allowed restaurant owners to brew beer in their own breweries, prompting restaurateur Pertti Oksa to begin studying brewing at the Mustiara Agricultural School.

Beer brewing began in Mikkeli and in a short time he expanded the scale of the 200 liter facility to expanded many times.

In addition to the brewing business, Oksa founded the Panimoravintola Bruuveri restaurant in Helsinki in 2006 and moved the facility there, which was too small for a brewery. Returning to Mikkeli in 2013, the brewery's product range has expanded from beer and cider to experimental beer/cocktails. Today this traditional yet modern, bold and very Finnish brewery is known as Saimaa Brewing Company.
