Our history started in 1973, when Basilio Castrovinci, after completing his studies and enjoying a rewarding experience in Australia, came back to Italy and began working in the fishing industry alongside his father Salvatore and his uncle Giovanni. In 2009, he established Industria Ittica Torrenovese, in Torrenova, a fishing village in the north of Sicily. It is not just a company, Castrovinci is a family. The second generation, Salvatore and Stefano, work together with their father Basilio and they run the company with 90 employees.
The innovation for the business is the main ingredient to expand in Europe and abroad, while maintaining the traditional hand cutting techniques. Next to the products made for big name retailers in Europe and for the hospitality industry, there is now an exclusive line dedicated to the foreign market represented by Castrovinci brand, that brings the Sicilian values overseas.

Local seafaring and fishing boats, sun, sea and scent of orange blossoms, traditions of stunning Sicily and Castrovinci family’s passion for their roots are the elements that combined bring a unique product from a small village in province of Messina to the tables all across the world, with its high nutritional value and delightful taste.
Every day our company works to select and prepare the best anchovy fillets from the Mediterranean Sea with an unforgettable, authentic flavor, supplying our customers in more than 20 countries in 6 continents.
In a modern facility spanning a thousand squared meters, ancient wisdom and innovative industrial technologies combine to guarantee a top quality product that is still largely artisanal.
