Green coffee bean importers raised official complaints to the Ministry of Finance in Egypt, stating that they are suffering from demurrage and storage charges for their containers lying at Egyptian ports due to the difficult process applied to imports since March 2022. Importers highlight that after this long stay for these containers, customs will sell the goods at auction, and this will cause a massive loss for them. Importers added that they lost their reputation with their global sources in terms of commitments and timings, which will impact Egypt's image in global trade.
