About 2% less pigs were slaughtered in Hungary than last year, while about 2% more chicken was slaughtered in the same time period. The exported pork meat volume was over 35 thousand tons, while the import was a bit over 51 thousand tons. Livestock hogs were mostly imported from Slovakia, Germany and the Czech Republic, while the export was mainly directed to Romania, Austria and Slovakia.
