The Malaysian Fisheries Department believes the milkfish breeding industry has great potential as a source of income and creating employment opportunities, especially for the rural community. The ministry strongly encourages entrepreneurs especially young people to take the opportunity to venture into the fish business which is not only easy to maintain and does not require high cost but also has very good market demand. Milkfish are gaining popularity in the local market because of its delicious taste and cheapness.
