Bulgarian potato growers claim they are exposed to unfair competition by imports from Germany, Poland, and Czechia. The imported potato purchase price is said to be €0,01 per kg which makes it impossible for national farmers to compete with these prices. There are already a few big retail chains that have signed contracts and started receiving imported potatoes and the same retailers haven't renewed their contracts with Bulgarian farmers.
