Myanmar's sugar industry has witnessed the lowest export and production this year. Myanmar sugar produce is mainly exported to China but in recent times, Chinese authority increases the import duties on Myanmar sugar. It has also tightened the illegal trading activities along the Myanmar-China border. As the Myanmar government is processing the application of permission to export sugar to China and obtaining the AQSIQ certificate, there is an oversupply sugar in the domestic market of Myanmar. A lot of traders are rushing to sell sugar due to the local domestic pressure which is pushing down the price of sugar in Myanmar.
