Saffron yield in Herat impacted as the area becomes epicentre for COVID19

Afghanistan's western province of Herat is the main agricultural centre of the country, especially for saffron cultivation. Herat province in recent times has become the epicentre of the COVID19 outbreak with high rates of confirmed and fatal cases. The outbreak has enormously impacted saffron farmers' mobility. The cultivation process couldn't be tended as planned and required. It is expected that the interruptions caused by the outbreak will adversely affect the total saffron production yield.
