The onset of the rainy season which coincides with the outbreak of COVID-19 also marks the beginning of the planting season in Nigeria.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and lock down in Nigeria, Kaduna state which is the highest producer of maize, tomatoes and ginger has put measures in place for a good farming season.
Appropriate guidelines are being put in place to ensure a productive year without interruption in farming activities for food security and sufficiency, especially during and post-pandemic.
