Chile is now able to export pork and chicken meats to Caricom (Caribean Community) after years of negotiation.

For the chicken exports, the main requirement is that Chile must be free of Avian Influenza. For pork meat producers, the only requirement to start exporting their products is a formal communication SAG (Livestock Farming Service from Chile) has to send to all its subsidiaries in the country indicating the new agreement.

It is important to consider that the Caricom market imported 31,842 millon dollars of meat products in 2018, of which the exportable value of Chile represents 3.63%.
