In the dairy industry, exports in February 2020 rose 14.1% in product volume and 29.1% in total USD amount when compared to the same month in 2019. The distribution of exports (largely grouped) based on the total value in USD for the 1st two-month period of 2020 was 53% for milk powder, 22% for cheeses in their different pastes, 16% for the rest of the products (milk candy/caramel, butter, butyric oil, whey, etc.), and 9% of confidential products (lactose, casein, yogurt, etc.). Nevertheless, this increasing tendency mainly responds to the fulfillment of commercial commitments made in the October-December 2019 quarter, so, in this sense and with the current international context, it is unlikely for the trend to continue.
