On March 21, a new Morocco-France maritime link dedicated to refrigerated containers loaded with fruit and vegetables entered service. The new line connects the southern Moroccan city of Agadir and Port-Vendres (France) once a week.
This new shipping company seeks to replace TIR traffic using the Tangier MED port platform with refrigerated containers loaded with fruits and vegetables. Thus, the latter will depart from the port of Agadir every Saturday and dock at Port-Vendres on Wednesday.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, exporters in the Sous-Massa region used ground transportation services. However, these offered a door-to-door and expensive service. Exporters now prefer maritime shipping because it offers a competitive alternative to TIR and a competitive quality service from a price and time perspective.
in addition to being more environment-friendly.
Thus, this constitutes a boom for the farmers and producers of the region.
