The surplus of tomato in the Indonesian market has brought down the price of this product. In traditional markets across the country, red tomato is now sold at IDR 5000/Kg, down from the regular price of IDR 8000/Kg. The surplus was caused by the high production output from the national farmers in the first quarter of 2020, as well as an imported tomato from China early this year, which is still available in the markets.
