Ban on Uganda's Sugarcane export to Kenya lifted

Export restrictions of Sugarcane to Kenya were lifted in August 2019. The government of Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS) on August 21 issued a six-month cane exportation permit to Sugarcane Farmers in Uganda.

Every year Uganda records production of excess Sugarcane is exported to avoid making losses as the current number of millers in the country have been unable to take on all their cane.
