Ralstonia solanacearum bacterium is causing a re-occurring problem in Hungary, mostly among potato farmers, but this specific bacterium can cause damage to tomato, pepper and eggplant as well. Its presence has first been observed in 2000 in Hungary and in some cases it was responsible for damaging up to 50% of the harvest.
