The European Union has increased the restrictions on trawl fishing for crustaceans in Italy (but also in Spain and France). From 1 January 2020 until 2024, in fact, the days at sea of fishermen have been reduced by 10% and could reach up to 40% in the next four years. This could lead to an increase in crustacean prices which many suppliers find unjustified because in any case most of the crustaceans present in Italy are imported.
