After almost 6 weeks of Malaysia under the MCO, the farmers and vegetable suppliers were increasingly affected by the unproductive harvest. The disadvantage is that the vegetables do not keep for long and should be thrown away after 5 days of not being sold. Therefore, the Malaysian Islamic Chamber of Commerce (DPIM) implemented a program to support small groups of farmers and smallholders affected by COVID-19. Under the program, the DPIM purchases the products of the affected farmers and smallholders before distributing the purchased crops to vulnerable groups, including the B40 and urban poor.
