Saffron exports of Iran have been badly hit this year mainly due to the outbreak of COVID19. The country usually exports around 250-300 tons of saffron per year. The main export destinations, Spain and Italy were severely impacted by the outbreak. Iran is expecting that by the end of the current fiscal year, the country will have 500 tons of saffron. The estimated figure is 10% more than the previous year.
