Reference price for premium Indonesian lampong white pepper in July 2020

The Indonesian export of premium-quality lampong white pepper to the Netherlands has been successfully done recently with a direct shipment from Belawan port in North Sumatra. The shipment of 25 MT of white pepper is the first in the third quarter of 2020 after 2 similar shipments were done to the Netherlands in the span of January to June 2020. The exporters were able to sell their white pepper at the price of IDR 300.000/Kg by taking advantage of the increase of reference price of white pepper on a global level, following the increasing demand for this commodity to kick off the second half of 2020. The exporters are confident that they can still export another batch sometime in the fourth quarter of 2020 as the premium-quality white pepper from Sumatra has had a strong market share in the Netherlands.
