Although Malaysia has highlands, no apple trees are grown commercially in Malaysia, contrary to neighboring countries such as Indonesia and Thailand who actively grow apples. This is because although Malaysia tries to grow six popular apple varieties such as "Manalagi, Anna, Rome Beauty, Granny Smith, Banana Winter Spur, and Beanie's Choice" in the highlands of Cameron, the apple tree is not always fertile. For this reason, apple cultivation in Malaysia is only used as a tourist attraction and not for commercial use.
