Amid the COVID pandemic, Indonesian grouper exports to Hong Kong actually increased significantly compared to 2019

In the span of April and May 2020, the export of grouper from Indonesia to Hong Kong increased significantly compared to the same period in 2019 despite the COVID pandemic. In April and May 2020, the national grouper manufacturers were able to record a collective export volume of 17 MT that consist of fresh and frozen grouper. This is a 7.5% growth in terms of export compared to the achievement last year at 15.8 MT. In general, Hong Kong has been one of the biggest importing countries for fishery products from Indonesia in the first two quarters of 2020. Reflecting on this previous record, the national grouper manufacturers are optimistic that they could continue this positive trend in the third quarter of 2020.
