Turkish egg exporters had stopped their exports to Iraq and Iran after the closing of the borders and had to sell their eggs to the domestic retailers. The excess supply of eggs drove down the prices.

Now egg exporters are trying to enter new export markets such as Israel and Saudi Arabia. The companies will use sea freight to deliver their orders to these countries. Furthermore, Turkish Mediterranean Exporters Association has set up a storage facility for food and agricultural products in Dubai and egg exporters would like to use it to expand their business to other countries in Middle East and Africa.
