Beef and veal prices are reported to be higher by 21% in March 2020 compared to the same period last year. The production of beef and veal has started to increase since quantities of 2019 have been too low. The quality is said to have impacted the price increase as well.
Chicken meat prices were also recorded to have increased by 4% in March 2020 compared to the same period last year. The increase in the chicken meat is believed to be caused by increases in pork and beef prices.
Chicken meat prices are not expected to exponentially increase unless there's a significant disruption in the European logistics networks since Bulgaria is an importer of chicken meat products.
