Family farms with generations of tradition dominant in Serbia

From the population of 7,2 million in Serbia more than 40% accounts for rural population. Agriculture accounts for over 20% of the employment and out of the agricultural holdings 99% are family farms. In most of the cases there are several generations of the same family cultivating crops or fruit on the same piece of land based on decades of tradition and experience.
