The biological richness of Moroccan waters is made up of pelagic resources and demersal trawlable species. Pelagic resources represent the main fishery potential of Morocco since they contribute with almost 80% to national production and ensure the supply of processing units and the internal market. But during the pandemic, the supply of these products is continuously decreasing because fishing for this type of fish, which includes sardines, anchovies and mackerel, among others, takes place overnight currently limiting movements due to the sanitary measures taken by the country.
