The flat haricot bean holds a privileged place among the main vegetables exported by Morocco. Exported volumes have increased by 22% in 10 years (Volumes increased from 63 000 tonnes to 83 000 tonnes). Most of these exports are destined for the European market, notably Spain for the common bean and France and Holland for the fillet bean. However, in recent years a lack of interest from the companies producing green beans has been observed. this decline is due to the fact that beans are a seasonal crop from October to March. And the climate change in Morocco is expected to negatively affect this seasonality.
