The groundnut season is on in Nigeria since the rains are fully established in the groundnut cultivation areas across the country and planting is in progress. A new variety developed by the International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) that is resistant to groundnut rosette disease and foliar diseases that usually plagues groundnut production has been introduced in Nigeria. Production is from mid-June to mid-July.
